Are there exercises to help with plantar fasciitis?

Mar 18, 2024 | Physiotherapy, Shockwave Therapy, Treatments

Yes, stretching the plantar fascia and calf muscles are an important part of treatment of plantar fasciitis  as well as strengthening muscle groups around the ankle and foot which may have become weak due to offloading the affected leg.

Exercises are used in combination with other treatment modalities  such as activity modification, load management, footwear advice, taping and shockwave therapy. Shockwave therapy is now considered the gold standard when it comes to treating plantar fasciitis, and we have a success rate of around 80% with shockwave.

At 3 Way Physio, our team of Physiotherapists have differing specialities ensuring we are able to cover many conditions.
