Get ready to roll into an important week! Starting today, June 9th, we’re celebrating two fantastic initiatives: Bike Week and Men’s Health Week!
Here at The Physio Centre, we’re passionate about helping you move well and live better, and this week gives us a brilliant opportunity to talk about both.
First up: Let’s talk bikes! Whether you’re a keen cyclist or just thinking about dusting off your old bike, jumping on two wheels is a powerhouse for your health:
- Boosts your mood: Seriously, try cycling and not feeling happier!
- Gentle on joints: Great exercise without the impact of some other activities.
- Builds strength & stamina: A fantastic workout for your legs, heart, and lungs.
- Stress buster: Fresh air and freedom – what’s not to love?
And now, to Men’s Health Week… This week is a crucial reminder for all men to prioritise their well-being. It’s about taking charge of your physical and mental health, and not putting off those important check-ups or conversations.
A quick note on cycling and pelvic health (especially, but not exclusively, for men): We understand that for some men, especially those managing Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS), cycling might seem challenging. While it’s true that some setups can aggravate symptoms, we want you to know that cycling doesn’t have to be off-limits! Many men with CPPS can cycle comfortably with the right guidance on:
- Targeted physiotherapy with Shockwave: Addressing the root causes of your pain to get you back on the bike feeling good. Yves is an expert, and really successful, when it comes to the treatment of CPPS.
- Bike setup: Optimising your saddle and position to reduce pressure.
- Riding habits: Learning techniques to minimise strain, e.g. the right shorts, vary your position and perhaps choose smoother terrain.
This week, we encourage you to embrace movement and open up conversations about your health. How can we help you move better and feel stronger?
Let’s make it a great week!
