Appointments
How do I make an appointment?
Appointments are available from from 8.00am most days, with the last appointment times between 6.00pm an d7.00pm. Our efficient and friendly receptionists will ensure an smooth booking procedure. We ask that you to arrive 5 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork for your insurance company and consent to treatment. Your Physiotherapist will meet you at reception and show you to the treatment room. Should you need further treatments these will be made at your most convenient time to suit your schedule.
Note that during Covid restrictions face masks must be worn when entering the clinic, and our procedures may vary from normal – you will be given any relevant information when you book your appointment.
What happens during an Assessment?
The Physiotherapist will take you into one of the individual treatment rooms. A series of questions will be asked on the history and nature of your condition. Aggravating and easing factors will also be asked so that the Physiotherapist can gain a true picture of your problem, such as how it commenced and how it is affecting your everyday life at home and work. Questions on your medical history, medication and lifestyle will also be asked. If you take a number of medications it may be easier to write these down on a piece of paper before you come.
Once the subjective examination (above) has been completed the clinical or objective examination will be performed. You will be asked to undress so that the area to be assessed and treated can be seen. Please wear suitable clothing for this, your dignity will be maintained at all times. The Physiotherapist will ask you to perform a series of movements and will perform their own tests to determine for example; pain, movement, muscle length and power, muscle balance and stability as necessary.

Physiotherapy is a specialised profession aimed at individuals of all ages to prevent, restore, maintain, develop and enhance movement and function. These circumstances may occur naturally through ageing, injury or disease. The aim is to restore the client’s function, movement, fitness and well-being to achieve a healthy and active lifestyle.
Physiotherapy achieves this through a process of assessing an individual’s movement and function and using agreed upon goals and objectives. Physiotherapy views human movement and function at home, leisure and work as central to the health and well-being of individuals.
We are able to offer private individual treatment rooms furnished with modern electrotherapy equipment and exercise gymnasiums at our listed building in Woodley.

What should I bring with me?
You may be asked to undress to your underwear to assess the area of your body to be treated. Please bring shorts and a vest top if you would feel more comfortable. We will ensure your privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
If you are attending for a sports-related problem it may be beneficial to bring your current trainers. Additionally, please bring along any orthotics that you wear; a referral letter from your GP or consultant; any reports, x-rays, letters etc. relating to your injury, if you have them.
